Arthur Street Play Area - Update11.30.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 18th Jun 2010
Your local Liberal Democrat community workers Councillor Chris Collis and Andi Clark are pleased to inform you that construction work has now begun, on the removal of the former children's play area at the end of Arthur Street and its relocation to a more appropriate site.
Landscaping works to form both the toddlers play area and the teen activity zone are due to commence on 14th, June, this phase (weather and ground conditions permitting) should be completed in time to enable the equipment to be installed from the 21st, June onwards. It is intended that all work on site will be completed to enable the contractor to hand over the new facilities to the council by the 5th, July, following which all equipment will undergo a rigorous round of safety checks prior to the opening of the areas to residents. Andi Clark said, "I am really pleased that these new play facilities will soon be available for the area's toddlers and teenagers to use, both sites have been designed to reflect the wishes of residents following several public consultation sessions, which were well attended and very useful. My colleague Chris Collis together with the support of many villagers has campaigned long and hard for better play provision for Wimblebury; their joint efforts have ultimately led to this very successful outcome - well done to everyone involved".
