Hazelslade Nature Reserve2.50.00pm GMT Thu 4th Feb 2010
The Hazelslade Nature Reserve sign is now in place at the entrance to the main car park off Cannock Wood St. Thanks to the work of Hazelslade & Rawnsley Community Association, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Cannock Chase District Council and Councillor Mawle, visitors can learn some of the history of the reserve and find out about the abundance of Flora and Fauna on site. When temperatures warm up a bit why not take the family for a relaxing walk around the lake and if your feeling adventurous, at the top end of the reserve there is a path which will take you to Castle Ring (make sure you have your wellies!) Councillor Darrell Mawle, said," I am especially pleased with the successful outcome of this project which will significantly enhance the experience of those visiting the reserve, it also shows what can be achieved when a range of organisations work together as a team. Well done everyone!"
