Liberal Democrat run Cannock Chase District Council are about to take recycling to yet another level by introducing wheeled recycling bins to replace the current blue boxes. The council's Environmental Leader Cllr Tony Williams and his team have recently completed a very successful trial of the new system, with residents in the trial areas saying that the new wheeled bins are a great leap forward and make recycling even easier to undertake.

Tory Group - Unaware Of Budget Rules

Well it is becoming more and more obvious that the Cannock Tories are not at all living in the real world, according to their Parliamentary Candidates website Councillor John Jillings is, and I quote, "Conservative Council Leader". I think the other 40 members of the council might have something to say about that, I can think of one in particular, the Liberal Democrat Leader of the Council, Cllr Neil Stanley.

Tesco Commit To Rugeley

Tesco have now submitted a planning application to Cannock Chase District Council, seeking permission to build a 40,000 sq ft supermarket together with 6 new retail units on the former Celcon factory site off Power Station Road, which they believe will generate around 400 full and part time jobs.

Hazelslade Nature Reserve

The Hazelslade Nature Reserve sign is now in place at the entrance to the main car park off Cannock Wood St. Thanks to the work of Hazelslade & Rawnsley Community Association, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Cannock Chase District Council and Councillor Mawle, visitors can learn some of the history of the reserve and find out about the abundance of Flora and Fauna on site.

Crossing Petition Launched

Following discussions with Rawnsley residents, Councillor Mawle is spearheading a campaign to get a pelican crossing on Littleworth Road as close to Happys Convenience Store as highways health & safety rules will permit.
